Analysis of Influenza Epidemic Characteristics in Wuwei from 2011 to 2022

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the epidemic intensity and characteristics of influenza from 2011 to 2022,and to provide scientific basis for the formulation of influenza prevention and control measures in Wuwei.METHODS The epidemic case data from 2011 to 2022 were collected from The Disease Control and Prevention Information System in China,the data were analyzed by means to describe the epidemic,and the qualitative data were used to compare the group-group differences.RESULTS From 2011 to 2022,2 939 influenza cases were reported in Wuwei,and the average annual incidence reported in Wuwei was 14.17/105.Influenza case reporting peaked in 2019,accounting for about 20%of the total cases.There were significant differences in reported incidence between years(x2=1090.433,P<0.05).January and December were the peak incidence period of influenza in Wuwei,and February,March and April were the second peak of the number of reported influenza cases in Wuwei.Most influenza cases from 2011 to 2022 were reported in Liangzhou District.Among the total reported cases,there were 1 613 male cases and 1 326 female cases,and the male to female ratio was about 1.2∶1,showing a significant difference in the incidence of influenza(x2=15.918,P<0.05).Children under the age of 10 reported the largest number of cases,with a total of 1 744 cases,accounting for about 59.34%of the total number of reported cases.In the population classification,scattered children reported the most cases,total 1 046 cases,accounting for 35.6%of the total reported cases;and rural residents were 731 cases,accounting for 24.86%of the total reported cases.CONCLUSION The number of influenza cases is reported in Wuwei varies in the composition of time,region and population.in order to avoid influenza epidemics,comprehensive prevention and control measures such as treating influenza-like cases,strengthening the monitoring of winter and spring influenza cases,and emphasizing personal and public health should be advocated to deal with the possible subsequent influenza outbreaks.
