Analysis on Physical Examination for Children Entering Kindergarten in Qixia District of Nanjing from 2021 from 2023

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the health status of children who was going to enter kindergarten in Qixia District of Nanjing from 2021 to 2023,and to provide basis for further development of targeted children's health care.METHODS Physical examination data of children entering kindergartens in Qixia District from 2021 to 2023 were collected,to compare the the physical development,nutritional status and prevalence of common diseases of children in different years,different ages and different genders.RESULTS From 2021 to 2023,the height and weight of children entering kindergartens in Qixia District exceeded the average rate of 70%.The rates of low body weight,growth retardation,wasting and obesity were 0.22%,0.26%,0.59%and 5.79%,respectively.The detection rate of the four increased with age,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=29.03,12.37,18.88,38.82,P<0.05).Obesity rate was higher in boys than girls,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=19.79,P<0.05).The rates of dental caries,anemia and poor vision were 20.8%,0.7%,12.6%,respectively.The rate of dental caries was decreasing year by year;the rates of dental caries and poor vision increased with age;the growth and development level of children entering kindergarten in 2023 was decreased,and the difference was statistically significant(x2=94.62,1 099.86,13.02,P<0.05).CONCLUSION The health examination of children in Qixia District of Nanjing was generally good.Dental caries and poor vision were main diseases hazarding the preschool children health,oral and eye health care should be actively carried out,and it should focus on older children's nutrition and common diseases.
