Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the characteristics of screen exposure and screen content of children aged 2~3 years in Xuhui District, and to analyze its determinants,in order to provide a scientific basis for the management of children's screens at home.METHODS A total of 864 diaspora children aged 2~3 years in all 13 communities in Xuhui District of Shanghai were selected by convenient sampling method from February to July in 2023,and their caregivers were surveyed by online questionnaires, and the influencing factors of children's screen exposure were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression.RESULTS Among 864 children aged 2~3 years,137 had screen exposure, with a screen exposure incidence of 15.9%.The average daily screen time was 30(20,60)minutes.The incidence of screen exposure was 12.9%(76/591)and 22.3%(61/273)in the 2-year-old and 3-year-old groups.Logistic multifactorial regression analyses showed that the incidence of screen exposure in the 3-year-old group(OR=1.627),father's education level was college or below(OR=1.747),children without being accompanied to use electronics(OR=2.137)and occasionally supervised(OR=1.622),not supervise children's use of electronics(OR=9.007)were independent risk factors for screen exposure in children aged 2~3 years(P<0.05).In terms of screen content,325(37.6%)were mainly educational and 539(62.4%)were non-educational.Multiple caregivers(OR=1.908)and unaccompanied use of electronic products(OR=1.765)were positively associated with children's viewing of non-educational screen content(P<0.05).Caregiver disallowing children to use electronic products(OR=0.305)was negatively associated with early childhood viewing of non-educational screen content(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The problem of children's screen exposure in children aged 2~3 years should be paid attention, strengthen education and parent-child accompaniment, and scientifically regulate children's screen exposure behavior.
