Differences of Working Years and Types of Cervical Spine Dysfunction among Medical Staff in A Certain Private Eye Hospital of Lanzhou

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the difference of cervical spine dysfunction among medical staff in ophthalmology hospital in different working years,and to provide some reference for understanding the cervical spine status of medical staff in ophthalmology hospital.METHODS Neck disability index(NDI)was used to evaluate the cervical spine function(including neck pain and its complications,and the ability of daily living)of 237 ophthalmic medical personnel.The differences in the types of cervical spine dysfunction among medical personnel with different working years were compared.RESULTS The cervical spine dysfunction scale scores of 237 ophthalmologists were 14.86 points.In the reading dimension of the scale,the working years of 20~25 years and>25 years had the highest degree of impairment(χ2=11.693,P<0.05).In the driving dimension,the degree of impairment in>25 years was the largest(χ2=12.056,P<0.05).In the entertainment dimension,the impairment degree of>25 years was the highest(χ2=14.738,P<0.05).In the scale of personal care and work dimension,there was no statistical significance in the difference of working years(χ2=4.241,7.249,P>0.05).CONCLUSION The health level of cervical vertebrae of ophthalmologists needs to be improved.Ophthalmologists with different working years have been affected in reading,lifting heavy objects,entertainment and driving,which has a huge impact on the quality of life of medical personnel,so actively preventing the occurrence of cervical spondylosis of ophthalmologists helps to improve the health level and quality of life of ophthalmologists.
