Investigation on Knowledge,Attitude and Behavior of Self-Monitoring of Blood Glucose in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes in Communities in the Outer Suburbs of Shanghai and Research on Influencing Factors

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To investigate the current status of knowledge,attitude and behavior of self-monitoring of blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes in the outer suburbs of Shanghai,analyze the influencing factors of low self-monitoring of blood glucose behavior in this population,and provide a reference for further improving the self-management ability of community diabetic patients.METHODS By convenient sampling method,from January to March 2024,patients with type 2 diabetes in Nicheng Town were selected for questionnaire survey.The survey contents included general situation and knowledge,attitude and behavior of self-monitoring of blood glucose.RESULTS A total of 304 people were surveyed.The total average score of each dimension of knowledge,attitude and behavior of self-monitoring of blood glucose was(17.93±3.40)points,including(8.70±2.48)points in knowledge dimension,(5.61±0.87)points in belief dimension and(4.12±1.69)points in behavior dimension.The analysis showed that occupation,income,medical payment method,family history of diabetes,equipment of blood glucose meter and frequency of blood glucose monitoring were all the influencing factors of knowledge,attitude and behavior of self-monitoring of blood glucose,with statistical differences(t=5.026,4.244,7.944,2.437,6.655 and 11.557,P＜0.05).CONCLUSION The knowledge,attitude and behavior of self-monitoring of blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes in the outer suburbs of Shanghai are at an average level,and there are many influencing factors.Community diabetes health promotion work should be continuously carried out to further improve the prevention and treatment ability of community diabetes.
