Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of measles in Quanzhou from 2013 to 2023 and explore strategies for measles prevention and control.METHODS It used the China Disease Control and Prevention Information System to obtain the data on measles cases reported from 2013 to 2023 in Quanzhouwere for descriptive analysis of incidence.RESULTS A total of 313 measles cases were reported in Quanzhou from 2013 to 2023,with an average annual incidence rate of 0.33/105,showing a downward trend(χ2=445.06,P<0.05).The cases were mainly concentrated in spring and summer, with a certain seasonal clustering(M=0.44).The incidence varies among counties(cities, districts),and the differences are statistically significant(χ2=93.88,P<0.05).Cases were mainly concentrated in the population less than 2 years old and over 25 years old, accounting for 44.09%and 39.30%of the total cases, respectively. The proportion of cases with no clear history of receiving MCV vaccination or unclear MCV vaccination history was relatively high,at 45.05%and 44.73%,respectively.There were 61 cases in which measles virus genotype were available, including 9 cases with H1 genotype,19 cases of vaccine strain A genotype,25 cases with B3 genotype, and 8 cases with D8 genotype.3 outbreaks of imported measles were reported.CONCLUSION The overall incidence of measles in Quanzhou shows a downward trend from 2013 to 2023,and maintains low since 2020.It is necessary to continue to maintain a high, timely, and full coverage rate of MCV vaccination among eligible children, strengthen epidemiological and etiological surveillance of measles and if necessary, carry out supplementary immunization for key populations.
