Analysis of Screening Results of Neonatal Congenital Heart Disease in Tongzhou District of Nantong from 2019 to 2022

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the results of congenital heart disease(CHD)screening in 11 970 newborns,providing infor-mation and basis for the effective prevention and control of neonatal CHD.METHODS A total of 11 970 newborn born in various ob-stetric institutions in Tongzhou District from May 2019 to December 2022 were selected as the research subjects.With informed con-sent of the newborns'guardians,these newborns were screened for CHD using the method of"cardiac auscultation transcutaneous blood saturation measurement".Those with positive screening results were required to undergo echocardiography;those confirmed with CHD were given timely health guidance or clinical intervention,and followed up in a standardized manner.RESULTS From May 2019 to December 2022,a total of 11 932 newborns born in various obstetric institutions in Tongzhou District of Nanjing were screened for CHD,with 38 newborns not screened,in a screening rate of 99.68%.Among them,240 newborns had positive screening results,with a positive screening rate of 2.01%.A total of 110 newborns were confirmed to have CHD by echocardiography,with a positive confirmation rate of 45.83%(110/240)and an incidence rate of CHD of 9.19‰(110/11 970).CONCLUSION The screening of newborns for CHD and the intervention follow-up of those with positive screening results are strong guarantees for the early detec-tion,early diagnosis,and early intervention of every CHD child.The society should strengthen publicity to achieve a 100%screening rate for newborn CHD,thus effectively ensuring the prevention,treatment,and prognosis of CHD.
