Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the current situation and influencing factors of myopia among primary school students in Tairi District,Fengxian District,Shanghai, reduce or delay the occurrence of myopia, and provide reference for effective prevention and control of myopia among primary school students.METHODS 1 011 primary school students from grades 1~5 who participated in the screening of refractive development in Tairi District,Jinhui Town,Fengxian District in 2023 were selected as the research subjects for visual acuity examination and questionnaire survey.SAS 9.4 English version for data management and analysis.RESULTS Out of 1 011 primary school students, there were 487 individuals with myopia, accounting for 48.17%.Among them, there were 388 individuals with mild myopia, accounting for 38.38%,90 individuals with moderate myopia, accounting for 8.90%,and 9 individuals with high myopia, accounting for 0.89%.As the grade level increases, the proportion of low myopia and moderate myopia shows an upward trend, and the differences are statistically significant(χ2=96.749,108.633,P<0.05).The proportion of low myopia and moderate myopia increases with grade level. The results of logistic regression analysis showed that age≥10 years old(OR=3.510,95%CI=2.877~4.281),father myopia(OR=1.696,95%CI=1.235~2.329),mother myopia(OR=1.501,95%CI=1.093~2.060),daily close distance learning time>2 hours after school(OR=1.087,95%CI=0.814~1.453),and failure to maintain good reading and writing posture(OR=1.285,95%CI=0.900~1.834)were independent risk factors for myopia in primary school students(P<0.05),and daily outdoor activity time(OR=0.639,95%CI=0.422~0.966).The daily sleep time(OR=0.888,95%CI=0.625~1.262)was a protective factor for myopia in primary school students.CONCLUSION The incidence of myopia among primary school students in the jurisdiction is not optimistic, and attention should be paid to the linkage between home and school, integrating visual health education, monitoring and early warning, comprehensive intervention, and tracking management,to prevent and control the occurrence of myopia from multiple perspectives.
