Analysis of Notifiable Infectious Diseases in Tongzhou District of Nantong from 2018 to 2023

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the incidence and epidemiological characteristics of notifiable infectious diseases in Tongzhou District of Nantong from 2018 to 2023,so as to provide scientific basis for the government to formulate scientific and effective prevention and control measures for infectious diseases.METHODS The reported data of notifiable infectious diseases in Tongzhou District of Nanton from 2018 to 2023 were obtained from the information system of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the incidence and distribution characteristics of infectious diseases.RESULTS A total of 22 kinds of notifiable infectious diseases were reported in Tongzhou District from 2018 to 2023,with an average annual reported incidence rate of 343.25/105.The reported incidence decreased significantly in 2020,and increased significantly in 2023,reaching 966.37/105.From 2018 to 2022,the incidence of hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD),syphilis and tuberculosis ranked the top three.The incidence of influenza and COVID-19 ranked the top two in 2023,and the ranking of HFMD,syphilis and tuberculosis moved back accordingly.Cases were reported in every month from 2018 to 2023,with the peak in June 2018,which was related to the epidemic of HFMD.There was no obvious seasonal change in the incidence from 2019 to 2022.The peak of incidence was in December 2023,which was related to influenza epidemic.Cases were reported in all towns/streets,and the top three incidence rates were 549.49/105,549.09/105 and 437.37/105 in Jinsha Street,Chuanjiang Town and Xianfeng Street,respectively.The ratio of male to female from 2018 to 2023 was 1.75∶1,1.61∶1,1.60∶1,1.69∶1,1.68∶1,1.68∶1 and 1.17:1,respectively.Cases were reported in all age groups,with the highest number of cases reported in the 0~5 years old group(5 581 cases,25.27%).In different occupational groups,the largest number of reported cases was farmers(5 940 cases,26.89%).CONCLUSION The notifiable infectious diseases in Tongzhou District coexist with traditional infectious diseases.Combined with the current incidence and epidemiological characteristics of infectious diseases,it is necessary to further strengthen the monitoring and early warning,implement comprehensive prevention and control measures,timely detect and effectively control the epidemic of infectious diseases,and reduce the incidence.
