Epidemiological Characteristics and Trend Analysis of Gonorrhea in Jinniu District of Chengdu from 2013 to 2023

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemic characteristics and trend of gonorrhea in Jinniu District of Chengdu,and provide the basis for formulating prevention and control strategies.METHODS Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the data of gonorrhea cases reported in Jinniu District of Chengdu from 2013 to 2023.RESULTS 975 cases of gonorrhea were reported from 2013 to 2023,with an average annual incidence of 7.34/105.The average annual incidence of men(11.83/105)was higher than that of women(2.73/105)(χ2=13.386,P＜0.05).The age was mainly in 25～49 years old(60.00%)and 20～24 years old(19.28%),the compositions ratio of 15～19 years old(χ2=6.510,P＜0.05)and 20～24 years old(χ2=5.478,P＜0.05)showed an overall upward trend.The main occupations were business services(27.90%),housework and unemployment(16.41%)and workers,migrant workers and farmers(10.05%),the occupations of business services(χ2=7.620,P＜0.05)and students(χ2=7.158,P＜0.05)showed an upward trend,the occupations of workers,migrant workers and farmers showed a downward trend(χ2=21.609,P＜0.05).CONCLUSION The Jinniu district of Chengdu is characterized by a moderate incidence rate of gonorrhea,the key populations for prevention and control include male young adults and the floating population,and improve the detection rate of gonorrhea in women,enhance sexual health education among young students,strengthen precise prevention and control efforts in key areas and key populations.
