The Influence of Automatic Blood Pressure Transmission System in Consulting Room on Blood Pressure End Preference

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of the automatic blood pressure transmission system in the office on the preference of the last reading of blood pressure in hypertensive patients.METHODS A total of 47 846 follow-up data were obtained from the chronic disease management files of 20 375 hypertensive patients in Xinzhuang Community,Minhang District,Shanghai,from October 1st,2020 to April 30th,2021.RESULTS 20.8%of the systolic and 25.4%of the diastolic blood pressure were recorded with 0 reading in the routine blood pressure measurement group,while 9.7%of the systolic and 10.1%of the diastolic blood pressure were recorded with 0 reading in the automatic blood pressure transmission group.The distribution of the last reading of blood pressure recorded at different levels was different between the routine blood pressure measurement group and the automatic blood pressure transmission group.In the routine blood pressure measurement group,the proportion of blood pressure readings ending in 0 and 1～5 reached the lowest point,and the proportion of blood pressure reading records ending in 6～9 reached the highest point,when systolic blood pressure was in 136～145 mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa)and diastolic blood pressure was in 86～95 mmHg.In the automatic blood pressure transmission group,the proportion of blood pressure reading records ending in 0 were around 10%,which was consistent with the expected frequency distribution.CONCLUSION The use of electronic automatic blood pressure transmission system in the management of hypertensive patients of the community can eliminate the preference of the last reading of blood pressure,and avoid the influence of the target blood pressure value on the preference of the last reading of blood pressure in the treatment of hypertension.Therefore,the electronic blood pressure automatic transmission system in the clinic is a blood pressure measurement method worth promoting in the management of hypertension in the community.
