Analysis of Monitoring Results of Common Diseases among Primary and Secondary School Students in Chenghua Dis-trict of Chengdu from 2021 to 2023

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the prevalence and epidemic trends of common diseases among students in Chenghua District of Chengdu from 2021 to 2023,to provide the scientific basis for formulating targeted prevention and control measures.METHODS Stratified cluster sampling method was used to select 7 primary and secondary schools in Chenghua district,and all grades stratification was conducted to select two classes per grade,no less than 80 students in each grade.Annual vision,nutritional status,oral and other physical examination,and the results were statistically analyzed.RESULTS A total of 7559 primary and secondary school students were examined.The ranking of the indicators of common diseases was as follows:poor vision(70.10%),myopia(62.91%),dental caries(52.49%),overweight(14.49%),obesity(10.93%),malnutrition(8.00%)and spinal deformity(1.26%).There were significant differences in the degree of poor vision,myopia,dental caries and nutritional status between men and women(χ2=-3.080,4.853,39.478,36.640,29.457,40.305,63.001,P<0.05).The distribution of the severity of visual impairment and the rate of myopia in Han students were higher than those in non-Han students.The detection rate of dental caries in Han students was lower than that in non-Han students.Except overweight,other common diseases had a linear trend with learning stage.CONCLUSION The situation of prevention and control of common diseases among students in the area is not optimistic.It should move forward the prevention and control pass,with a particular focus on addressing multiple health concerns,and to protect the students'healthy development.
