The Correlation Study between Mental Health Status and Quality of Life in Empty-nest Elderly Patients with Essential Hypertension in Community

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the correlation study between mental health status and quality of life in empty-nest elderly patients with essential hypertension in community.METHODS 80 elderly empty-nest elderly patients with hypertension of Shanghai Pudong New Area Shuyuan Community Health Service Center were selected as the observation group,and 80 elderly no empty-nest elderly patients with hypertension were selected as the control group from 2021 to 2022.The SCL-90 and SF-36 scores of the two groups were analyzed.The correlation between the two indexes were analyzed.RESULTS The SF-36 scores in all dimensions of the observation group were lower than in the control group(t=-8.537,-13.370,-6.492,-14.054,-12.469,-13.984,-10.378,-15.816,-11.490,P<0.01).The SCL-90 scores in all dimensions of the observation group were higher than in the control group(t=6.628,6.790,8.559,9.810,8.450,6.133,8.298,6.079,P<0.01).The scores of SCL-90 scale and SF-36 scale were negatively correlated.CONCLUSION There is a correlation between mental state and quality of life in community empty-nest essential hypertension patients.Improving mental state will help improve the quality of life of patients.
