Analysis of Drug Therapy in the Management of Diabetic Patients in Jinshan District Community of Shanghai

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To mine the prescription drug information of diabetic patients,understand the drug use of type 2 diabetic patients in the community,and summarize the combination of high-frequency drugs,so as to provide basic data for community general practitioners to better guide the rational drug use of diabetic patients.METHODS It obtained demographic characteristics,status of diabetes,uses of antidiabetic medicines and glycosylated hemoglobin A1c levels among prevalent T2DM patients in communities of Jinshan District of Shanghai from the local Diabetes Management System,the prescription information of the Hospital Information System(HIS),and the Laboratory Information System(LIS).RESULTS 28 218 diabetes patients were derived from the diabetes management system in Jinshan district of Shanghai.A total of 22 534 patients were tacking prescribed medicines,and the medication treatment rate was 79.9%,regular medication rate was 56.4%.The most frequently prescribed medication was biguanide(15 605,53.6%)The most common use of hypoglycemic medications was the single-drug group(32.9%),followed by two-drug group(31.5%).The most commonly used single drugs were biguanides(28.4%),sulfonylurea secretaggers(25.2%)and insulin(20.0%).The most commonly used two-drug groups were biguanides/sulphonylurea promoters(34.2%).The most commonly used in the three-drug group were biguanides/sulphonylurea promoters/alpha-glycosidase inhibitors(19.4%).Along with the increasing duration of diabetes was a shift from single to multiple medications.CONCLUSION The treatment rate of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Jinshan District of Shanghai is high,but the regular drug taking rate is low,and there are four or even five or more irregular drug use.The proportion of new hypoglycemic drugs is relatively low,and the rate of drug treatment is affected by factors such as age,course of disease and number of chronic diseases.
