Prevalence and Influencing Factors of Self-reported Chronic Diseases among Residents of Jiaozuo

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the prevalence of self-reported chronic diseases among residents who were 15~69 years old in Jiaozuo and analyze its influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for government departments to formulate prevention and control strategies for chronic diseases.METHODS From February to August,2023,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 2 960 urban and rural residents aged 15~69 in Jiaozuo by stratified and multistage random sampling.Multivariate logistic model was used to analyze the influencing factors of chronic disease.RESULTS The self-reported prevalence rate of chronic diseases among residents aged 15~69 in Jiaozuo was 23.92%,and the top three chronic diseases were hypertension(17.17%),diabetes(5.52%)and cerebrovascular disease(2.85%).Univariate analysis showed that there were differences in the prevalence of chronic diseases among residents with different gender,age,marital status,education level,occupation,annual family income and whether they had health literacy or not(P<0.05).The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis show that the influencing factors of chronic diseases are gender,age,occupation and whether they have health literacy.CONCLUSION The prevalence of chronic diseases is high in Jiaozuo,so health education of chronic diseases should be added to improve the health literacy of the majority of residents,focusing on the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in male,elderly,low education and low-income groups.
