Analysis of the Lab Results of Physical Examination for Seniors 60 Years and above in a Community in Tianjin

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To investigate the health status of the elderly of Shuangxin Street community health service center at the age of 60 and above in Jinnan District in Tianjin.METHODS A retrospective study was carried out on the laboratory test index-es of 5 062 cases of elderly people who had a physical examination in our center from August to April 2015.RESULTS The abnor-mal lab test results were the listed as the follow,which indicated that 69.02%had high value of low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),50.32%had high value of cholesterol(TC),47.91%had high value of glucose(GLU),29.08%of seniors had high value of triglyceride(TG),18.53%low value of high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),9.48%had high value of total bili-rubin(TBIL),8.53%had high value of platelet(PLT),5.14%high value of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),4.41%had low value of white blood cell(WBC),4.15%high value of aspartate aminotransferase(AST),3.81%had high value of urea nitrogen(BUN),2.31%had high value of white blood cell(WBC),1.78%had high value of creatinine(Cr),1.44%had low value of he-moglobin(HGB),0.87%had low value of platelet(PLT),and 0.22%low value of Plasma glucose.Except Alt and AST,the oth-er items had statistical significance The proportion of abnormal cholesterol and low density lipoprotein in patients aged 60～69(52.50%,71.06%)was significantly higher than those aged 70～79(45.32%,64.42%)and≥80(44.87%,63.68%).The proportion of creatinine and urea nitrogen abnormalities in patients≥80 years old(4.70%,11.97%)was significantly higher than that in 60～69 years old(1.24%,2.80%)and 70～79 years old(2.71%,5.10%).The proportion of abnormal hemoglobin in≥80 years old residents(5.56%)was significantly higher than that in 60～69 years old group(1.05%)and 70-79 years old group(1.78%),and the proportion of abnormal platelet in≥80 years old residents(4.70%)was significantly lower than that in 60～69 years old group(9.79%)and 70～79 years old group(9.20%).The differences were statistically significant(χ2=21.480,6.748,19.857,58.171,22.446,22.788,P＜0.05).CONCLUSION The laboratory test of physical examination for the elderly residents in the community indicates that they have variety of chronic disease conditions,which suggests that the standardized management of chronic diseases should be strengthened.
