Analysis of Infection Pattern and Clinical Characteristics of 121 Juvenile Brucellosis Cases in Henan

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To analyze the infection pattern and clinical characteristics of juvenile brucellosis cases in Henan province,and to provide specific evidence for developing brucellosis prevention and control measures.METHODS Data of juvenile brucellosis cases from January to June 2023 were obtained through the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System and the case survey form,and analyzed through descriptive epidemiological methods.RESULTS A total of 112 cases with complete information were obtained,the incidence rate was 0.414/105,and cases were distributed at all age categories.The average age of onset morbidity was 8.74±5.21 years old,the male to female ratio was 1.87:1,and no death was reported.It showed that 83.93%of the cases had animal exposure history,among which raising sheep and eating animal products were the main exposures,and the main infection place was at home.Fever was the most common symptom(92.86%,104/112),followed by hyperhidrosis,muscle and joint pain and fatigue.The incidences of liver enlargement,spleen enlargement,lymph node enlargement and other complications were low.There were significant differences in the incidences of hyperhidrosis and muscle and joint soreness between scattered children and farmers(χ2=11.49,9.84,P＜0.05).CONCLUSION Juvenile brucellosis is diagnosed at all age categories in Henan Province.The main infection place is at home,and the main infection cause is feeding and eating animal products.It is necessary to further strengthen comprehensive measures of brucellosis prevention and control,promote relevant health campaign and education,standardize breeding management,so as to reduce the incidence of brucellosis in juveniles.
