Investigation and Analysis of Risk Factors Exposure of Stroke High-risk Population in Rural Community of Linqu Country

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the risk factors exposure of high-risk stroke population in a rural community in Linqu County through follow-up work,and to provide scientific basis for stroke prevention and control in Linqu County.METHODS 377 pa-tients with high risk of stroke in Linqu County were followed up.The information of follow-up included general demographic informa-tion,homocysteine and carotid artery ultrasonography.RESULTS A total of 237 patients with high risk of stroke were followed up,the follow-up rate was 62.86%.The risk factors were hypertension and drinking,respectively alcohol,significant overweight/obesity,dyslipidemia,diabetes,smoking,lack of exercise,atrial fibrillation/valvular disease.Among 237 patients at high risk of stroke,homo-cysteine(Hcy)increased in 49 cases(20.7%),including 31 males and 18 females,50 carotid atherosclerotic plaques detected by ul-trasound,and 123 common carotid artery intimedia thickness(IMT)thickened.CONCLUSION Hypertension,drinking,overweight or obesity,dyslipidemia,diabetes and smoking are the main risk factors affecting stroke incidence in rural communities in Linqu Coun-ty.It is suggested that carotid artery ultrasound and homocysteine examination should be included in basic public health examination programs for elderly people in rural communities to improve the intervention efficiency,reduce the risk of disease and protect the health of residents.
