Investigation of Current Health Demand Status of School Health Clinics for Primary and Secondary School Students in Guangdong Province

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the demand and satisfaction of primary and secondary school students in Guangdong province for the clinic services,to explore the possible deficiencies of the primary and secondary school clinic services from the perspective of the demander,so as to provide reference for strengthening the construction of primary and secondary school clinics and improving quality of the school health work.METHODS The questionnaire were conducted in primary and secondary schools to describe the ser-vice situation,demand situation,and satisfaction situation of school health clinics from September to December 2022,the survey in-cluded school students.RESULTS A total of 250 valid questionnaires were collected.The student questionnaire survey showed that the students demand for the top three to control the spread of infectious diseases,dealing with sudden trauma,contact and cooperate with the nearby hospital medical staff.The students overall service satisfaction score mean 3.66±0.93,the satisfaction of students in the Pearl River Delta region was higher than that in the non-Pearl River Delta region(t=-3.19,P<0.05).The level and service attitude of health workers,treatment costs,and reimbursement are the key factors affecting the students'satisfaction.CONCLUSION The surveyed primary and secondary school students have a high and diverse demand for school clinic services,and there is still room for improvement in overall service satisfaction,with regional differences.For meeting the needs of students diversification,im-proving the student satisfaction,balancing of regional differences by increasing funding,strengthen professional personnel,etc,the relevant departments should also strengthen collaboration and regional planning.
