Epidemiological Characteristics of Hand,Foot and Mouth Disease in Jiangdu District of Yangzhou from 2017 to 2022

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To explore the epidemiological characteristics of hand,foot and mouth diseases in Jiangdu District over the past 5 years,and to provide a reasonable basis for the prevention and control of the local hand,foot and mouth disease epidemic.METHODS The reported cases of hand,foot and mouth diseases in Jiangdu District from 2017 to 2022 were screened from the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System.Descriptive epidemiological methods were used for statistical analysis.The data were organized,statistically analyzed,and analyzed using WPS 2019 and SPSS 23.0 software,the difference was statistically signifi-cant.RESULTS 2 586 cases(0 death)of hand foot mouth disease were reported in Jiangdu District from 2017 to 2022,with an annu-al average incidence rate of 41.75/105,the difference was statistically significant(χ2=1 701.890,P＜0.05).The incidence was mainly concentrated from May to July each year and from December to January of the following year,manifested as a double peak in winter and spring.The incidence site was mainly concentrated in the central urban area.The affected population was mainly concentrated in the central urban area.The main affected population is 2 494 children aged 0～5,accounting for 96.44%.CONCLUSION The prev-alence of hand,foot and mouth diseases in Jiangdu District showed a fluctuating trend from 2017 to 2022,with obvious seasonality and a bimodal pattern,with the prevalence of children under 5 years old being particularly prominent.To strengthen the vaccination of hand,foot and mouth vaccine and propaganda and education of hand,foot and mouth disease,the above measures may be condu-cive to reducing the incidence rate of hand,foot and mouth disease and controlling the prevalence of hand,foot and mouth disease.
