Epidemiological Characteristics of Chickenpox in Dongying from 2020 to 2022

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of varicella in Dongying,to provide reference for the surveillance of chickenpox epidemic in Dongying and the formulation of preventive measures against chickenpox.METHODS Reported cases of chickenpox in Dongying from 2020 to 2022 were collected by China Disease Prevention and Control Information System,and the epidemiological characteristics of chickenpox in space,time and population were analyzed by descriptive research.RESULTS From 2020 to 2022,a total of 3 447 cases of mumps were reported in Dongying,with an annual reported incidence rate of 52.41/105 and the number of cases showed a decreasing trend year by year,the rate of chickenpox were 59.181/105,56.76/105,41.38/105,the difference had statistical significance(χ2=78.170,P<0.01).From 2020 to 2021,the incidence of chickenpox showed obvious periodicity and seasonality,with the peak from April to July and from October to January of the following year,and only from April to July in 2022.The average annual incidence rate of male(55.77/105)was higher than that of female(48.96/105),and students and farmers were the main victims.There were 463 cases with the history of varicella vaccination,accounting for 13.43%of the total incidence;98.90%of the cases had different degrees of fever,and the highest body temperature was 39.0℃.The number of herpes cases was less than 50,accounting for 70.01%.50~100 cases with 995 cases,accounting for 28.86%;36 cases were 100~200 cases,accounting for 1.03%;3 cases≥200 cases,accounting for 0.09%.Mainly outpatient medical records,accounting for 99.19%.CONCLUSION The average annual incidence of mumps in Dongying has been declining year by year,and there are still two peaks in summer and winter.The incidence of mumps in men is more than that in women,and the incidence of mumps in farmers should be focused on besides students.
