Analysis of the Current Status of Management and Treatment of Patients with Severe Mental Disorders in Lanzhou from 2019 to 2021

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To understand the current situation of management and treatment of patients with severe mental disorders in Lanzhou in recent three years,and to provide scientific basis for the formulation of prevention and treatment measures and mental health policies.METHODS The relevant data of patients with severe mental disorders in Gansu Province severe mental disorders information System were extracted and analyzed statistically by Excel.RESULTS The mental health monitoring information system of Gansu showed that registered severe mental disorders in Lanzhou were 11 310 cases(2019),11 914 cases(2020)and 12 295 cases(2021),respectively,and the three-year reported prevalence showed 3.03‰(2019),3.19‰(2020)and 3.42‰(2021),with an upward trend.The three-year standard management rate showed an increasing trend,which were 73.48%(2019),76.16%(2020)and 80.21%(2021),respectively.Three years of patient interview rate showed an increasing trend,which were 72.25%,79.04%,81.53%.The rate of regular medication in three years showed an increasing trend,which were 32.74%,43.76%and 52.05%,respectively,except for the standard management rate and interview rate,other indicators were lower than the national requirements.CONCLUSION In the past three years,the management ability of patients with severe mental disorders in Lanzhou showed an upward trend,but the reported prevalence rate and the regular medication rate of patients were still some distance from the national requirements.The stigma of patients with severe mental disorders and their families is the main reason for the low reported prevalence and standardized management rate,and the uneven distribution of mental health resources leads to the low regular medication rate of patients in the outer suburbs.
