Investigation and Analysis of the Demand for Medical Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Abstract：OBJECTIVE To investigate the problems that need to be improved in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)and the drug needs of patients,so as to provide reference for promoting the standardized treatment of COPD at the primary level.METHODS Questionnaire surveys were conducted among clinicians,pharmacists and patients in community and tertia-ry hospitals to analyze the problems that need to be improved in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),to understand the actual needs of patients for COPD drugs and the factors that hinder patients from treating COPD in community hospi-tals.RESULTS A total of 253 valid questionnaires were collected,including 126 from doctors and pharmacists and 127 from pa-tients.The survey showed that only 9.45％of patients with COPD chose to be treated in community hospitals,while 37.01％of pa-tients said that the drug supply of community hospitals was difficult to meet the treatment needs,and that the monitoring capacity,in-spection capacity and drug use adjustment capacity of community hospitals needed to be improved.For the drug treatment of COPD,doctors and pharmacists in hospitals at all levels were mainly concerned about patient education and drug supply.84.13％of clini-cians and pharmacists believed that patients lack the awareness of active medication,and 59.52％of doctors and pharmacists be-lieved that the basic level of COPD compound preparations was insufficient.CONCLUSION At present,the drug treatment of COPD in hospitals at all levels,especially in community hospitals,needs to be improved.It should further improve the allocation of COPD drugs,strengthen patient medication education,and improve the coordination ability of medical institutions at all levels and the level of diagnosis and treatment in community hospitals.
