Equity Analysis of General Practitioners Allocation in China from 2012 to 2020

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To analyze the current trend of amount change and the fairness of allocation of general practitioners in China,and to provide a reference for government to formulate policies.METHODS The data of general practitioners from 2012 to 2020 were collected and summarized,and descriptive statistical analysis and agglomeration were used to reflect the fairness of general practitioners in China by geographical area and population allocation.RESULTS From 2012 to 2020,the number of general practitioners per 104 population in China increased from 0.81 to 2.90,and the average annual growth rates in the eastern central and western regions were 14.15%,21.87%and 19.86%,respectively.HRAD in the eastern region decreased from 5.392 to 4.533,HRAD/PAD decreased from 1.460 to 1.182 HRAD in the central region increased from 1.149 to 1.479,HRAD/PAD increased from 0.641 to 0.875,HRAD in the western region increased from 0.273 to 0.328,and HRAD/PAD increased and from 0.715 to 0.853.CONCLUSION The total amount of general practitioners in China has significantly increased there are differences in the geographical distribution and popula-tion distribution in the eastern,central and western regions,the fairness of population distribution is better than that of geographical distribution regional development is not coordinated,and a supply and demand balance mechanism for general practitioner training and demand should be established to improve the capacity of primary health services.
