Abstract:Objective To explore the application effects of the flipped classroom combined with the case-based learning(CBL)teaching mode in the standardized training of thoracic surgery residents. Methods 160 residents receiving standardized training in the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were divided into an observation group(flipped classroom combined with CBL)and a control group(traditional lecture-based teaching method),with 80 residents in each group, using the random number table method. The scores of the post-rotation assessment were used as the evaluation indicator, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the satisfaction of the two groups with their respective teaching methods. Results The experimental group achieved higher department rotation assessment scores and satisfaction levels compared with the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The flipped classroom combined with the CBL teaching mode can enhance residents'understanding of theoretical knowledge, foster their self-directed learning and problem-solving abilities, and improve the quality of standardized training for thoracic surgery residents.
