Application of problem-based learning based bedside teaching mode in the standardized residency training of medical imaging physicians

Abstract：Objective To analyze the application effect of the PBL based bedside teaching mode in standardized residency training(referred to as residency training)in the radiology department.Methods A total of 132 residents from Department of Radiology,the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were selected and randomly divided into a control group(n=66)and an observation group(n=66)using a random number table.The observation group adopted the PBL based bedside teaching mode,while the control group received conventional teaching methods.The exit examination scores(theoretical foundation and practical skills)and teaching effects were compared between the two groups.Results The theoretical foundation and practical skills scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group,and the improvement rates of various dimensions of teaching effectiveness in the observation group were also better than those in the control group,with statistical significance(all P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with conventional teaching mode,PBL based bedside teaching mode can significantly improve the theoretical foundation and practical skills of residents in radiology during their residency training.Moreover,the teaching effect are superior.
