Exploration and practice of the EPAs evaluation system based on job competency for the stratified training model of geriatric medical talents

Abstract：Objective To explore the application effect of the EPAs evaluation system based on"job competency"in the stratified training model of geriatric medical talents.Methods Trainees of the Geriatric Medicine Talent Training Program at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine in 2023 were selected as the observation group,and received stratified training under the EPAs evaluation system based on job competency.The trainees of the 2022 program served as the control group,using the traditional training program.Diversified evaluation methods were used to compare the theoretical scores,questionnaire results.Results The average scores of the observation group in theoretical and skill assessments were significantly higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).Under the EPAs evaluation system,the confidence levels of the observation group significantly increased compared with those before the training,and their training satisfaction scores were also significantly higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).In the evaluation of each competency dimension,the average scores of the observation group were all higher than those of the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The stratified training model under the EPAs evaluation system based on job competency can effectively enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of geriatric medical talent trainees,improve training satisfaction,and promote the comprehensive enhancement of trainees'job competencies.
