Standardized residency training for ophthalmology at Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Senese:A model analysis and inspiration

Abstract：Based on the author's visiting scholar experience at the Ophthalmology Department of Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Senese(AOUS)in Italy and on the European Training Requirements for Ophthalmology,this article introduces the characteristics of the current residency training model for ophthalmology at AOUS from five aspects:residency training framework,admission criteria,training objectives,curriculum system,and outcome evaluation.By analyzing the current status of standardized residency training for ophthalmology in China,this article puts forward reflections and corresponding recommendations,aiming to provide references and insights for advancing the development of standardized residency training of ophthalmology in China.
