Abstract:Objective To study the effect of systematic peer mutual learning on the assessment of spinal surgery residents. Methods A total of 74 residents in standardized training were included in this study from March 2022 to May 2024.They were divided into observation group and control group by simple random sampling method, with 37 cases in each group. The observation group was trained by systematic peer mutual learning model. The control group received the traditional lecture-based teaching model(LBL).After the training, the assessment results, teaching evaluation and satisfaction of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the scores of auxiliary examination, clinical examination and skill operation as well as the total score of the observation group were higher(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the scores of pathological characteristics explanation, spinal anatomy, spinal surgery principle and degree of interest in teaching in the observation group were higher(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the evaluation of teachers between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the observation group had higher satisfaction with training process planning, teaching resources setting, student communication, and teacher-student communication(P<0.05).Conclusion The systematic peer mutual assistance learning model used in the standardized residency training is beneficial to improve the practical skills of residents, the quality of teaching and residents'satisfaction with the training, which has a good value.
