Effect of the three-round hierarchical and progressive training mode on obstetrics rotation for residents:a qualitative study

Abstract:Objective To explore the learning experience,growth and development of residents in obstetrics rotation under three rounds of hierarchical progressive training mode,analyze the existing problems in teaching work,and provide reference for the reform of residency training teaching.Methods Eight residents and five clinical teachers were interviewed by purposive sampling methods.Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted.Colaizzi method was used to analyze the data.Results Through the analysis of the interview data,three themes and nine sub-themes were extracted:The three-round hierarchical progressive mode had certain effect on obstetrics rotation.The learning objectives and evaluation criteria needed to be further clarified and optimized.It was necessary to implement the rotation plan in stages and adjust the rotation plan and objectives individually.Conclusion The three-round hierarchical progressive training mode enhances the obstetrics expertise of resident physicians,but there are still deficiencies in the refinement of learning objectives and the establishment of assessment criteria.It is necessary to optimize the training plan and objectives in line with the clinical needs of obstetrics and implement personalized teaching to improve clinical competence.
