Current status and inspiration of European Training Curriculum for Radiology

Abstract：European Training Curriculum for Radiology(Edition 2024)is the newest edition of European training curriculum established by the European Society of Radiology(ESR).The curriculum is divided into three levels:Level Ⅰ～Ⅲ.Level I training(1 st-3 rd years)focuses on basic theories and imaging manifestations of diseases in whole body.Level Ⅱ training(4 th and 5 th years)focuses on deepening and expanding the knowledge of two elective subspecialties.Level Ⅲ(beyond the 5 th year)focuses on immersive subspecialty training.The curriculum is carried out on three dimensions:knowledge,skills,and competence and attitude,which emphasizes the integration of multidisciplinary collaboration,clinical operational capacity,and advanced technology.The clinical competence of trainees is evaluated by Entrustable Professional Activities(EPAs).The curriculum demonstrates high interdisciplinary integration,strong orientation towards operational skills,and rapid technology update through its progressive curriculum framework design,multi-dimensional curriculum content setting,and rigorous and innovative evaluation system.It is a worthy reference for the development of standardized residency training for radiology in China.
