Abstract:Objective This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of an advanced laparoscopic training model based on diversified tools in the standardized training of urology residents. Methods A total of 32 urology residents from the Department of Urology at the Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital, who underwent residency training from August 2018 to July 2024,were selected. They were divided into a traditional group(n=11)and an observation group(n=21)based on roation time. The traditional group underwent conventional simulator box training, while the observation group received a phased training program consisting of theoretical learning, simulator training(simulator box and virtual reality system),ex vivo organ surgery, and live animal surgery. Results After training, the observation group showed significantly shortened operation time in visual localization,eye-hand coordination,three-dimensional localization, bilateral hand coordination, and suturing.Compared with the traditional group, the observation group demonstrated significant improvements in eye-hand coordination and bilateral hand coordination, and all the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).The questionnaire survey revealed that 100%of the observation group residents were satisfied with this training model, with the highest scores given to live animal training. Conclusion The advanced laparoscopic training model can systematically enhance the operative skills of residents, especially in complex skill training. The integration of diversified tools, phased design, and real-life scenario simulation effectively supports skill transfer and offers potential for broader application.
