Abstract:Objective This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of standardized training for general practitioner residents in Chongqing and analyze the influencing factors. Methods This study employed a questionnaire survey to assess the satisfaction, competency enhancement, and post-residency work status of 244 general practitioners who completed their residency training in Chongqing between 2015 and 2018,and to identify factors affecting satisfaction. Results The overall satisfaction score of 244 resident physicians with the training program was(4.11±0.04)points,indicating a high level of satisfaction.Satisfaction with clinical preceptors received the highest rating at(4.23±0.04)points,while satisfaction with community rotation plans scored the lowest at(3.83±0.06)points.Income satisfaction, expectations of career prospects, the level of base management standardization, and satisfaction with clinical rotation plans significantly influenced overall satisfaction(P<0.05).Following the training, general practitioner residents demonstrated significant improvement in professional knowledge and clinical diagnosis and treatment abilities, with high self-assessment ratings in managing common diseases, and in selecting and interpreting auxiliary examinations. Conclusion After completing their training, general practice resident physicians in Chongqing report high overall satisfaction, significant improvement in their skills, and notable training effectiveness. However, there is a low willingness to serve in primary healthcare settings.Training bases still need to enhance their connotation and improve training quality.
