Abstract:Objective The aim of this study was to explore the application effects of the blended learning mode in basic life support re-training for senior guiding physicians. Methods 170 trainees who participated in the re-training in 2023 from East Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University were trained using the blended learning mode and designated as the experimental group.170 senior guiding physicians participating in basic life support re-training in 2022 were selected as the study subjects who used the traditional teaching mode and served as the control group. This study made a comparative analysis of the two learning modes in many aspects. Results There were no differences in the pass rate of skill assessment and in each score item between the two teaching modes(P>0.05).The learning duration in the traditional teaching mode was significantly longer than in the blended learning mode(P<0.01).Compared with the traditional teaching mode, the participants'preference level and confidence level for the blended learning mode were significantly higher(P<0.01),with female participants significantly favored the blended learning mode more than male(P<0.05).Female participants were more convinced that the blended learning mode could better promote knowledge and skill learning compared with the traditional learning mode than male participants(P<0.01).There were no statistical differences in participants'preference level, confidence level and knowledge and skill learning promotion based on age, educational background or job title(P>0.05).Conclusion Blended learning mode has similar teaching effectiveness with traditional learning mode. However, the blended learning mode offers lower time cost, higher student preference level, increased confidence in skill application during practice, and better knowledge mastery. As a result, most senior medical practitioners prefer the blended learning mode, especially females who exhibit higher acceptance rate.
