Investigation on current situation and training needs of teachers in simulation-based medical education in Hunan Province

Abstract:Objective To understand the current status and training needs of simulation-based medical education(SBME)faculty training in Hunan Province,with the aim of providing a reference for the SBME faculty training in Hunan Province.Methods A self-made questionnaire was used to conduct a survey on 456 faculty members from 25 SBME institutions in Hunan Province from September 2023 to December 2023.Results The faculty members had a high level of understanding of medical simulation,with the vast majority having participated in medical simulation teaching.There was a very high demand for faculty training,and the faculty members had systematic and specific requirements for the content of the training,especially for how to implement simulation teaching and debriefing.Conclusion The SBME faculty in Hunan Province has a good understanding of medical simulation,a positive outlook for the future of medical simulation,and a high demand for SBME faculty training.We need to adopt appropriate training strategies and plans based on the level of faculty,and improve the training content,to further the development of the SBME faculty.
