Abstract:Objective To explore the application of case-based learning(CBL)based on multi-disciplinary treatment(MDT)in the standardized residency training of Traditional Chinese Medicine for cultivating emergency rescue capabilities. Methods Evaluation and satisfaction survey on the emergency rescue capabilities of standardized residency training of Traditional Chinese Medicine who participated in the 2022-2023 MDT-CBL emergency rescue capability enhancement course at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, followed by statistical analysis of the data.To provide reference for residency training bases in designing teaching curricula, innovating pedagogical methods, and improving teaching efficiency. Results Compared with master's degree graduate students in medicine, the MDT-CBL teaching method demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving sub-competencies such as clinical learning interest, clinical diagnostic and therapeutic thinking, and multidisciplinary knowledge application among TCM physicians recruited from the public(P<0.05).Compared with TCM physicians assigned by external institutions,MDT-CBL showed significant benefits in enhancing sub-competencies such as clinical learning interest, clinical diagnostic and therapeutic thinking,self-directed learning ability,problem-solving skills, comprehensive application of multidisciplinary knowledge in clinical practice, and awareness of the importance of general medical knowledge among publicly recruited TCM physicians(P<0.05).TCM physicians reported high overall satisfaction with MDT-CBL and expressed willingness to incorporate it into daily TCM residency training. Most participants preferred an implementation frequency of once per month. Conclusion The MDT-CBL approach can improve TCM physicians'sub-competencies to varying degrees, including awareness of the importance of general medical knowledge, clinical learning interest and diagnostic thinking, and can achieve high satisfaction.Feedback from participants can inform innovative strategies for designing emergency response capacity-building curricula in residency training programs.
