Application of PACS based CBL teaching method in standardized residency training of echocardiography for congenital heart diseases

Abstract：Objective To explore the application and teaching effect of utilizing the picture archiving and communication system(PACS)combined with flipped classroom CBL teaching method in skill training of congenital heart disease echocardiography.Method A total of 24 residents who participated in congenital heart disease echocardiography training were randomly divided into two groups,observation group and control group,with 12 in each group.The observation group received experiential teaching method,which was based on PACS combined with flipped classroom CBL teaching method,while the control group received traditional teaching method,and both completed training and congenital heart disease case description and diagnosis assessment.The exam scores,teaching feedback and satisfaction survey of the two groups were compared and analyzed.Results The comparison of general data between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The assessment score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of learning autonomy and learning quality,the observation group had a better overall evaluation of teaching satisfaction,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of PACS and CBL teaching method is a more optimized and popular teaching mode for echocardiography in congenital heart diseases.
