Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of the case guided seminar teaching model in the standardized residency training(referred to as residency training)in the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department. Methods 24 residents rotating in the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department from August 2022 to July 2023 were selected into the observation group, using the case guided seminar teaching model.23 residents rotating in the same department from August 2021 to July 2022 were selected into the control group, adopting the traditional teaching model. The application effects of the two models in residency training were compared. Results The observation group demonstrated superior performance in the assessments of basic theoretical knowledge, case analysis and medical inquiry compared with the control group(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of basic acupuncture and moxibustion techniques between the two groups(P>0.05).Satisfaction surveys regarding teaching methods revealed that the observation group outperformed the control group in areas such as enhanced learning interest, improved self-directed learning ability, communication skills, teamwork, and overall teaching model evaluation, with statistically significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion The application of the case guided seminar teaching model in the training of acupuncture and moxibustion residents can improve the comprehensive ability of residents, which is worth popularizing in the clinical teaching of acupuncture and moxibustion.
