Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effectiveness of the compatibility between Kolb's learning style and a metaverse-based medical education platform in preparing residents for the National Medical Licensing Examination(NMLE),and to evaluate its impact on examination pass rates and clinical competency enhancement. Methods This study enrolled 78 first-time NMLE candidates from a national standardized residency training base in Xiamen as the observation group, who received Kolb style-adapted metaverse platform training. The control group was comprised of 112 first-time examinees from other national training bases in the same city, adopting conventional preparation methods.Training outcomes were assessed through examination performance analysis, evaluation of learning efficacy and satisfaction surveys. Results The observation group demonstrated significantly higher pass rate(84.6%vs 72.3%,P<0.05)and mean score[(414.09±27.63)vs(399.26±45.99),P<0.05]compared with the control group.Core competency metrics including clinical reasoning and procedural skills showed marked improvement.Overall satisfaction with the metaverse platform reached 82.16%.Conclusion The compatibility between metaverse technology and Kolb's learning style can significantly enhance residents'first-time pass rates in NMLE and their clinical competency.
