Influence of simulation-based education on core competency of general practice resident physicians

Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of situational practice teaching method on the improvement of core competence of resident physicians in general practice.Methods The First-year resident physicians who entered the standardized training base for general practice residency training in the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in 2020 and 2021,were divided into control group(grade 2020)and observation group(grade 2021)according to the year of admission.The observation group was taught with situational practice teaching method,while the control group was taught with traditional teaching method.After one year of training,the milestone evaluation system was adopted to evaluate the training effect of resident physicians and collect feedback.Results The resident physicians in the observation group were superior to the control group in professional ability,patient management,communication and cooperation,teaching ability and learning ability,and the resident physicians'satisfaction with teaching was also higher than that in the control group,with statistical significance(all P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the traditional teaching method,the situational practice teaching method can greatly improve the core competence of resident physicians in general practice,and has high application value in general practice training.
