Application of OBE-based camera holders training in clinical teaching of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy

Abstract：Objective To investigate the significance of OBE model system for training camera holder of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy(LRP).Methods The first-year residents of the Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from July 2022 to December 2022 were randomly divided into the observation group(n=30)and control group(n=30).The observation group received OBE training and the control group received autonomous training,and the effects were determined.Results In both the observation group and the control group,the score of camera-holding training improved significantly from the baseline.The scores of observation group was higher than that of control group[10.0(0.0)versus 9.0(2.0),Z=-4.42,P<0.001],and the camera holding ability was more balanced among residents in observation group.The scores of LRP related anatomy and operation process in observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.001).Conclusion The training system for LRP camera holding assistants based on OBE model can improve the residents'camera holding ability and the effect of learning theoretical knowledge significantly,and its promotion should be considered.
