Exploration of WeChat combined with case-based learning on capacity of clinical thinking in standardized residency training in the Intensive Care Unit

Abstract：Objective To explore the influence and effect of WeChat combined with case-based learning(CBL)method on capacity of clinical thinking in residents in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU).Methods A total of 139 resident physicians trained in ICU were selected from First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University between September 2022 and September 2023,and were divided into CBL group(control group,n=69)and WeChat combined with CBL group(experimental group,n=70).The examination was condacted and the satisfaction was investigated after trainting.Results The theory scores,history acquisition,clinical thinking and skill scores of experimental group were higher than those of control group(P<0.05).The satisfactions of experimental group in learning interest,independent learning ability,learning efficiency,solving problems,and communication ability were higher than those of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion Based on WeChat combined with CBL model can fully mobilize the enthusiasm and enhance clinical thinking of residents.By breaking through the limitations of time and space,it improves the ability and effects of independent learning,thus provide theoretical reference for contributing to the work of ICU standardized residency training in China.
