Abstract:Objective To evaluate residents'self-directed learning pathways, and their knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to evidence-based medicine in the context of the popularity of WeChat. Methods A questionnaire was used to survey residents in 16 tertiary-level hospitals in Zhejiang Province. Results A total of 712 valid questionnaires were returned,of which 71.49%were from undergraduate students. The top three specialities were internal medicine(29.49%),surgery(11.80%)and general medicine(10.96%).Residents ranked WeChat in the top 3 independent learning pathways for clinical encounters, teaching rounds, didactic mini-lectures,and other types of debriefings.Less than 5%of residents were very knowledgeable about knowledge and tools related to evidence-based medicine. Conclusion WeChat public platforms are increasingly becoming an important avenue for the evidence-based practice of resident physicians. While their knowledge of EBM remains limited, they recognize its value. There is still room for improvement in the use of WeChat public platforms for this purpose.
