Abstract:Objective To study the application value of PDCA cycle on the practice of clinical training teaching methods for general resident dentists. Methods A total of 41 residents who had studied in the standardized training base of oral general practitioners in Xuchang Central Hospital for more than one year were randomly divided into two groups, including 20 in the experimental group(EG)and 21 in the control group(CG).The CG used traditional teaching mode.In the EG,PDCA cycle was introduced to improve the teaching quality on the basis of traditional teaching mode. The teaching effect was compared between the two groups by theoretical and skill assessment results of residents and Mini-CEX evaluation results of patients. Results For theoretical scores, skill scores and Mini-CEX scores of the two groups, the last scores of the EG and the CG were better than the first scores, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The EG was superior to the CG in the last score of theoretical score, skill score,Mini-CEX scale score and total score, and the influence of teaching methods on the final score was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the same time, there were no significant differences between the two groups in the first offects of the scores of each dimension and total score on their last scores(P>0.05).Conclusion The introduction of PDCA cycle in the teaching of oral general practice residency training is helpful for us to find and solve problems, optimize teaching methods and stimulate residents'learning enthusiasm, which is one of the effective methods to improve the teaching quality of oral general practice residency training.
