Abstract:Objective To investigate the application effect of 3 D printing models in standardized residency training in spinal surgery(hereinafter referred to as residency training). Methods A total of 46 resident physicians who underwent second-year residency training in the Spinal Surgery Department of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group by lottery, with 23 physicians in each group. The observation group received 3 D printing model-assisted teaching, while the control group received traditional teaching methods. After one month of training, the teaching outcomes of both groups were evaluated through a multi-dimensional assessment, including final examination scores, comprehensive assessment scores, teaching satisfaction surveys, and self-evaluation questionnaires.Independent sample t-tests were used for data analysis. Results The observation group showed significantly higher scores in the final examination, comprehensive assessment, and teaching satisfaction(all P<0.001)compared with the control group.Furthermore, the observation group demonstrated significantly higher levels of learning interest,self-study ability, teamwork collaboration, and comprehensive analysis ability in their self-evaluations(all P<0.001).Conclusion 3 D printing model-assisted teaching effectively enhances the quality of residency training in spine surgery and significantly improves residents'teaching satisfaction and overall capabilities, offering a new and effective approach for residency training in spine surgery.
