Abstract:Objective To explore the difference between the teaching mode of workshop combined with peer instruction and the traditional teaching mode in musculoskeletal ultrasound teaching. Methods A total of 60 interns, trainee doctors and residents who came to the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University to study ultrasound from November 2018 to October 2023 were selected. Each student was randomly assigned into experimental group and control group before admission, with 30 students in each group.Workshop combined with peer instruction method was adopted in the experimental group. The control group adopted the traditional teaching method, and the students in both groups did not have the relevant theoretical knowledge and practical experience of musculoskeletal ultrasound before entering the course. At the end of the study period, the two groups of students were assessed by theory and practical examinations, and the satisfaction questionnaire was collected to compare the effect of the two teaching methods. Results After the teaching, the experimental group had higher scores in theoretical and practical exams and questionnaire satisfaction than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The teaching mode of workshop combined with"peer instruction"can promote students to better grasp the theoretical knowledge and practical operation ability of musculoskeletal ultrasound, and significantly improve the teaching effect of musculoskeletal ultrasound, and students feel more satisfied with this learning mode. Therefore, this teaching mode is worth promoting and applying.
