Implement death education and end-of-life care in hospitals to improve the humanistic literacy of clinical doctors

Abstract:China's population is aging,and the number of patients with chronic diseases and cancer is increasing year by year.Under the shadow of COVID-19 and flu,people are facing the unknown and the risk of death is rising,which urgently requires us to understand death.Hospitals are assumed to be the ultimate place of death,and it is even more necessary for clinical doctors working in them to strengthen death education and end-of-life care,reflecting the humanistic spirit.This article reviews the concepts of death education and end-of-life care,the significance of conducting death education in hospitals,and specific implementation strategies,in order to contribute to the development of medical continuing education and death education in China.
