Abstract:Objective This study aimed to investigate the application and effectiveness of the mini-clinical evaluation exercise(Mini-CEX)in the pre-approval process of inpatient pharmacists in outpatient pharmacies. Methods A total of 30 inpatient pharmacists participating in standardized training in the outpatient pharmacy of the Department of Pharmacy at Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University, from May 2017 to May 2023,were selected. The Mini-CEX assessment scale was utilized to evaluate and score the inpatient pharmacists'proficiency in using the pre-approval system.Satisfaction with the assessment was reciprocally scored by both teachers and inpatient pharmacists. Results Following two rounds of assessments for each inpatient pharmacist,a comparative analysis of the scores revealed a significant improvement in each evaluation criterion during the second assessment compared with the initial assessment, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The satisfaction levels of both teachers and inpatient pharmacists in the second assessment surpassed those in the first assessment, exhibiting statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the Mini-CEX assessment method in the pre-approval system markedly enhances the prescription review proficiency of inpatient pharmacists, demonstrating a notable and substantial effect that warrants wider implementation.
