Test-enhanced learning of ultrasound equipment knobology:application in standardized residenty training in the ultrasound department

Abstract：Objective To explore the application value of test-enhanced learning of ultrasound equipment knobology in standardized medical training of residents in the ultrasound department.Methods This research retrospectively identified 840 ultrasound reports issued by two groups of residents(the observation group consisted of 14 residents who took the ultrasound equipment knobology test and the control group consisted of 14 residents who didn't take the test)during their first three months'work as sonographers.Ultrasound images were retrieved and scored based on B mode,color Doppler and pulse wave Doppler imaging optimization.T tests were performed to compare the differences in scores between the two groups of residents.Surveys were administered to the test group to measure satisfaction with the ultrasound equipment knobology test.Results The observation group(14.26±0.33)scored higher than the control group(13.69±0.55)in ultrasound equipment knobology,and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.003).In terms of B mode imaging optimization,the observation group scored significantly higher than the control group[(4.8±0.11)points vs(4.54±0.22)points,P<0.001)].For pulse wave Doppler,the observation group(4.64±0.18)points also outperformed the control group(4.34±0.32),and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.005).There was no statistically significant difference in color Doppler imaging optimization between the two groups(P=0.986).The role of ultrasound equipment knobology test in enhancing learning was highly recognized by the observation group.Conclusion The application of test-enhanced learning of ultrasound equipment knobology in standardized residency training in the ultrasound department has high feasibility,which can improve the quality of residents'imaging optimization effectively.
