Abstract:Objective The purpose of this study was to conduct a bibliometric and visual analysis of the hotspots and development trends of domestic research on narrative medicine in the medical field, with a view to providing a theoretical foundation for the current practice and development of narrative medicine in China. Methods CNKI and Wanfang databases were selected as the data sources, and VOSviewer software was used to conduct an in-depth study and make visual analysis of the publication time, publication institution, author distribution, frequency of keywords and application discipline classification. Results A total of 1 380 papers were examined through CNKI and Wanfang databases. From 2004 to 2023,the number of papers published on the topic of"narrative medicine"in the country showed an overall growth trend, and the publications were concentrated in medical humanities journals, but the researchers were scattered, and a stable and aggregated research group had not yet been formed. The main research fields of narrative medicine in China were humanity qualities, medical education and nursing practice. Conclusion At present, few domestic studies related to narrative medicine use qualitative analysis, and how to take advantage of the current advances in linguistic and informatics technologies for the qualitative analysis of narrative texts to make their research digital and scientific is also an innovative focus issue. How to expand the scope and enrich the forms of application of narrative medicine is the direction of future research in this field.
